About

Software engineer building AI and data systems that ship.

Hi, I'm Mahmud — a software engineer who builds AI systems and data infrastructure that ship in real environments. I'm a Sacred Heart University graduate (B.S. in Computer Science, 3.92 GPA, minors in Mathematics and Cybersecurity, May 2026) and an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and AI Practitioner.

I'm now a full-time Software Engineer at Travelers, on the Enterprise AI DevOps team within Enterprise Artificial Intelligence (EAI). Before that I built an invoice-automation platform as an AI Intern at BVF Engineering, and led the Smart Corrective Action Assistant (SCAA) — an air-gapped retrieval-augmented LLM platform for Sikorsky / Lockheed Martin that earned an Honorable Mention for Best Technology Prototype at SHU's 2026 Academic Festival. Earlier I shipped serverless ETL on AWS during a Travelers data-engineering internship, engineered analytics pipelines for SHU's NCAA D-I Women's Basketball program, and modernized archival systems at the Igor I. Sikorsky Historical Archives.

I build software that holds up in production — clean interfaces, measurable outcomes, and the rigor that keeps systems reliable as they grow: testing, observability, and CI/CD. I work across the whole stack and lifecycle — backend services and APIs, data pipelines, AI and retrieval systems, and the interfaces people actually use — and I like owning a problem end to end rather than a single layer. I also build for the love of it: sports analytics, digital-humanities archives, and projects like Buckets and PumpLens.
